The Best Dreams
"The best dreams always come true", her mother told her.
She believed that wholeheartedly and commenced living each day in joy beyond words, which, as she would learn, was water, sunlight and food for all the dreams in her heart.
"THE BEST DREAMS"
Sometimes the dreams that stir you the most can feel murky at first, as they swirl up from the depths of your being... tugging at your attention until you can't think of anything else.
They may emerge from nearly-forgotten places, where you once held the bits you treasured most. Or maybe you just gave up thinking they were possible and got used to staying busy so you wouldn't feel sad.
Remembering them can be exhilarating. Scary. They make you feel like a little kid, full of hope and excitement and magic and possibility. Then they intermingle with adult you, which can be tricky. Will you listen to the voice that says "Yes" or "No"? (I would advise the first one.). That's test #1. There will be more.
Along the way, AdultYou might think bringing these precious dreams to life is taking longer than it should. Or that it's just impossible. But that's only because you're scared you'll lose them again before they have a chance to be born and the thought of that triggers an unimaginable grief. "Where did THAT come from??" you wonder, trying to catch your breath.
Don't worry, my dove. Be brave. Have patience. Nurture all the things. There will be alot of them. Some will be hard. Some won't. But they'll be the things that give your dreams oxygen. And legs. And the desire to be truly alive, free, to cut loose and sprinkle fairy dust all over your world.
And that, my friends is what we were born to do. Be our own most divine selves and well, that means fairy dust.
Let's remember that.
That's what this piece said to me, after I made it and said hello to it.
Thought you'd find that interesting.
